Dealership Media Kit

The purpose of this press kit is to give you, as an independent NIADA Member dealer participating in the NIADA Certified Pre-Owned program, a tool to help drive local media coverage of your dealership and its CPO offerings to the consumer. The kit includes:

  1. A cover letter, and
  2. A compilation of facts and figures about CPO,the NIADA CPO program, NIADA and warranty provider Warrantech, and other information.

How to use this CPO Press Kit:

  • Send an email with a link to this kit (see compilation above) to the editor, business editor, news director and/or business reporter of newspapers, publications, TV stations and other media outlets that cover your local area.
  • Use the cover letter as the body of the email. Feel free to personalize it as much as you’d like. It helps to address the letter to a specific person, but “Dear editor” or “Dear news director” will work if you don’t have a name. And, of course, be sure to include your contact information.
  • Make sure you are clear about the message you want to convey when you send this to the media. The story pitch is that CPO vehicles are in high demand, with five consecutive years of record sales, and this is a new twist on that phenomenon – CPO has always been associated with manufacturer and franchise dealers, but now this program allows independents to take part. That levels the playing field for NIADA Member dealers, but most important, it is good for consumers, giving them more choices and better vehicles.
